Car Park and Drop Off

There is a drop off area outside the SACO@Livingbase building, this is only 16 metres from the Main Entrance. The pavement and the road are all on level ground .The drop off area is large enough for all types of transport, please note this is a busy area and there are no road markings to indicate the drop off area. The security staff within the complex oversee all movements of people and cars who park around the complex area. The staff at SACO@Livingbase are willing to assist when required with luggage to the Reception.

There is a public car park less than 60 metres from the SACO@Livingbase building, this is a pay and display car park. The tariff is 0-1 hr £1.20, 1-2 hrs £ 3.00, 2-3 hrs £4.00, 3-4 hrs £5.00, 12-24 hrs is at £14.00. The car park is open 24 hrs. There are 3 entrances to this car park and two exits, you must retain your ticket with you at all times. The ticket machines accept credit cards and cash. The ticket office has a chip and pin machine that is fully portable to assist wheelchair users on producing a SACO@Livingbase Card obtained from Reception, Saco Guests receive a discount rate which is paid directly to the car park at the Customer Service desk, this is £8 per 24 hours.

Access at Entrance

The building has very good access into the Reception area; there are double outward opening doors at the Main Entrance. The doors have large D shaped handles attached on both doors. There is also very clear manifestation etched onto both main entrance glass doors. The signage is displayed in large lettering across both entrance doors, this offers good visual reference to the building and the main entrance. There is a key pad intercom system to the left of the main entrance, and a key card swipe system. There is a weather protection canopy installed at the main entrance and there is good lighting around the entrance with security lights installed around the complex giving good illumination during the hours of darkness.

Reception

The main reception area is located on the ground floor of the SACO@Livingbase building. Once inside the reception area there are two seats located on the right hand side of the reception. The reception desk offers a good visual contrast; and the staff on duty are very knowledgeable about the services and the general complex offering quality information of the services that are on offer in and around the area. There is an accessible toilet to the left of the reception desk, along with a key safe area, all residents have a code to access this facility; however, the main reception is manned 24 hoursa day. There are security cameras located within the reception area for the security and comfort of all residents and staff.

Kitchen and Living Area

The living room and kitchen are well appointed, there is very good natural and artificial light within the lounge and kitchen. There is a good range of seating available with different heights; there is a large table with 6 dining chairs with good clear space to move in and out from the dining table. The kitchen has plenty of storage space; there is a double sink with mixer taps installed, along with a ceramic hob and a single electric oven. There is a microwave and fully integrated dishwasher and fridge in the kitchen. The living room offers a sofa, with a coffee table on a mat in the centre of the room, there is also a large flat screen TV with built in surround sound system.

Facilities

There is an accessible toilet located in the main reception area to the left of the entrance as you approach the reception desk. There is good, clear access to the toilet entrance. Once inside there are hand rails and an alarm system installed. The lights are automatic and switch on and off as you enter and exit the accessible toilet. The hand basin and toilet roll holder are all close and accessible whilst using the toilet. There is an alarm system with a reset button to the right of the toilet as you enter. The reset button is 1 metre from the floor. There are clean hand towels provided daily.

Access to All Areas

The building has 12 floors that are all linked by the walkthrough lift and a smaller service lift. The circulation around the building is very good on all floors; there are automatic lights that are activated when approaching a room or corridor.

The apartment has very good circulation throughout, the lounge and kitchen offer very good access to all areas including the sofa and the dining area. The kitchen has a 3 metre long worktop, which enables good circulation to prepare food for family and guests when required. The Master Bedroom offers good access to the en-suite bathroom and around the double bed. Bedroom 2 offers similar circulation but has no en-suite facility. There is a toilet and shower room to the right as you approach Bedroom 2.

The master bedroom offers good access to the wardrobes and the smaller chests around the room. There is good access into the en-suite; there is also a movable air conditioner unit within the master bedroom. The room has good natural light, via the big windows, the curtains are very easy to open and close and the carpet and walls offer good contrast within the room.
