Car Park and Drop Off
The closest drop off point to the Cathedrals' main entrance is on Temple Row West off of Colmore Row. There are several town centre Car Parks close by, the nearest being the council run pay and display facility on Livery Street. The Snow Hill shopmobility centre is also based within this Car Park.
Buses serving all City Centre routes stop on Colmore Row within 100 metres of the Cathedral. Snow Hill Station is approximately 350 metres along Colmore Row offering rail and metro connections.
Access at Entrance
There is level access into the main entrance from within the grounds. Wide double doors are held open when the building is open.
The Cathedral is set amongst pleasant grounds in the heart of the City Centre.
There is ample seating throughout the grounds.
There is a small refreshment bar and souvenir stand in the Cathedral offering mainly hot drinks and biscuits.
The Cathedral is mainly a place of worship. There are many historical features and architecture in and around the building. Many visitors are attracted by the magnificent stained glass windows at the Cathedral.
The Cathedral is famed for its music. There are regular organ recitals throughout the year.
There is a resident choir based at the Cathedral.
A portable ramp can be deployed allowing visitors access up towards the altar and stained glass windows.
There are accessible toilet facilities at the Cathedral. Toilets are in a secure area due to previous misuse, therefore staff are required to gain access.
Access to All Areas
All main areas of the Cathedral are on the ground floor with level or ramped access. Stairs lead to the upper balconies to either side, however these areas are only used as an overflow seating area and visitors with disabilities can be accommodated on the ground floor.
A passenger lift is provided for visitors to access the Undercroft. The lift is located in the vergers office and visitors must be accompanied if using the facility.
