Car Park and Drop Off
The closest available street is Corporation Street. It is possible to drop off here but there are very few available dropped kerbs. There are plenty of city centre pay and display car parks nearby.
City bus services can be caught from the bus stops on the corner of New Street and Corporation Street and also from the end of High Street. Both New Street and Moor Street Rail Stations are within 500 metres. There are taxi ranks at various points throughout both streets.
Seating is provided at intervals along both streets to allow shoppers to rest. The seating is shaded by trees but offers no protection from wet or cold weather conditions.
Access to all areas
Birmingham New Street and High Street are at the heart of the city centre shopping areas. The Bullring is situated where the two streets meet, with Victoria Square and the civic offices at the other end of New Street. There are well paved slopes on both streets. New Street becomes a steeper slope as you continue towards Victoria Square.
The junction of New Street with Corporation Street provides access to more shops and there is a large ramp which gives entry up into the Pallasades shopping arcade and Birmingham New Street station.
The whole of New Street and High Street are pedestrianised except for a small section by Temple Street and the Corporation Street crossing. This gives unhindered access to all shopping areas without the problems of crossing the street from side to side.
At the top end of New Street close to Victoria Square, regular Farmer's Markets are held selling a wide variety of locally produced items. The stalls are set up in the middle of the pedestrian area.
