There are several bus routes that have stops near to The Drum including route numbers 8, 33, 51 and 907. These services run regularly and frequently. The bus stops are located on the High Street, just a short distance from The Drum. There is a Taxi Rank close to the Main Entrance to The Drum on Potters Lane.
There is a Car Park at The Drum reserved for the use of patrons. Visitors should be aware that there are no designated accessible parking bays.
Access at Entrance
The Main Entrance is situated to the right of the Car Park and can be accessed by either steps or a ramp. Entry is gained via double, automatic sliding doors which lead to the Box Office and Information Desk. The Auditorium Entrance is situated to the right of the Main Entrance and is accessed via steps or the Main Entrance ramp. The Auditorium Entrance has double doors which open outwards and has a level threshold. These doors lead to a lobby which offers stepped access into the Auditorium. Step free access is gained via the Main Entrance where staff will accompany visitors to the Auditorium. The Studio Entrance is located to the left of the Car Park and is also accessed either by steps or a ramp. The double entrance doors lead into a lobby which has steps and a lift giving access to the Studio Lobby and the Studio.
Box Office and Information Desk
The Box Office and Information Desk is situated to the left of the Pit Area. Staff will assist visitors with information about forthcoming events, promotions and the booking of tickets. The nearest accessible entrance to the Box Office and Information Desk is the Main Entrance. There is an induction loop at the desk and a chip and pin machine, which is accessible for all customers. Seating is available for customers to the left of the desk.
The Studio is located on the upper floor and can be accessed via the Studio Entrance using the passenger lift and the stairs. Entry can also be gained through the Main Entrance where staff will assist visitors to the Studio. The Studio has its own Lobby, Bar, Cloakroom and Accessible Toilet facilities.
The Frontiers Restaurant and Bar is located to the right of the Main Entrance and serves hot and cold food, main meals and drinks. Internet access desks are located within the seating area for visitor use. Steeped access to the Auditorium can be gained from the Restaurant.
The Pit Area is located opposite the Box Office and Information Desk and can be accessed via either steps or a ramp. The Pit Area can be used for a variety of functions, including accommodating conference stands and serving as a performance area.
The Auditorium is located on the upper floor and can be accessed either by the stepped Auditorium Entrance, by the Main Entrance or via lift. If access is gained via the Main Entrance then staff will assist visitors to the Auditorium. The Auditorium has a range of events on offer from stand-up comedy to live shows and plays.
The Multimedia Training Room is located on the upper floor and has numerous workstations available for training, personal development and internet access.
The Seminar Room is located behind the Pit Area. The room and seating can be adapted to suit varying needs and requirements from a boardroom layout, as pictured, to theatre or training layouts.
There are accessible toilet facilities available in the Auditorium, Studio and Entrance Lobbies. The Entrance Lobby has separate male and female accessible toilets and there are unisex accessible toilets located in the Studio and Auditorium Lobbies. There is also an accessible baby changing table in the accessible toilet in the Auditorium Lobby.
Access to all areas
The lifts are located in the Studio Entrance Lobby and offer step free access to various facilities within The Drum. The lift control buttons inside the lift are located at an accessible height for all users and the buttons are raised and in Braille There are also audible announcements to aid visitors when using the lift. There are multiple ramps located within The Drum which offer step free access to facilities including the Frontier Restaurant and Bar, the Pit Area and the Seminar Room. All ramps have handrails provided and are of the appropriate width for wheelchair users. The steps located within the building are either situated next to ramp or lift access. Handrails are present on all of the steps except in the the Pit Area.
